Who processes data for us

The therapist directory

Therapists listed in the app are independent professionals, not employees or agents of Sakinah. When you send a session request, what you write is shared with that therapist, who then handles it under their own professional duties and the laws that apply to their practice. We do not receive, keep or see the sessions that follow.

Therapists who apply give us their name, email, licence details, profile text and fee information. We use them to verify the licence, publish the public part of the profile (never the email or licence number), take enrollment payments, and meet legal duties. We keep application records while the person is listed and for [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 6 years or as required by law] afterwards.

Sensitive information

Your messages may reveal religious beliefs, health, family or relationship matters. We use them only to provide the service you asked for, and ask for your agreement during onboarding.

Your choices and rights

Children

Sakinah is not intended for children under [13 / 16 — match your App Store age rating and local law].

Not professional advice

Sakinah provides AI-generated guidance. It is not a licensed therapist, doctor, lawyer or mufti and does not replace one. If you are in danger or crisis, contact your local emergency number.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
